Preparation For KPM

Hi there! If I remember correctly, the last blog I made was about my interview for Diploma in English Communication at KPM. Well, I'm happy to say that I passed the interview! I was actually glad considering I was quite awkward at the interview lmao. To check whether or not I passed, I had to login to UPIM's website and key in my ic number.

After I did, the page looked like this :

Sadly though, I didn't get any offers from UPU so whether I liked it or not, I still had to enter KPM. I was happy that I got KPM Seri Iskandar because it's not as lonely and isolated (also ada McD so I think I'll be okay). The sad news is that my friends from my interview group all managed to get KPM in Indera Mahkota, Pahang. So I guess I'll be making new friends again (which I'm terrible at).

So if you can see from the pic, the registration fee is RM320 and there are two ways of payment. My dad made his transaction through the MARAeps mobile app that I guess he installed on google play. After making the transaction, then you're allowed to click the 'cetak slip tawaran' button at the bottom of the page.

If you have read the KPM Student Manual, you will see that KPM asks students to open up a bank account under Bank Rakyat. This means even if you have a CIMB/Maybank/etc bank account, you still need to open up an account below Bank Rakyat. Don't ask me why, idk either.

So I went to open up an account and there were a few things you need to be alert of ;
-you must come with your parents because if not you can't proceed
-you need to bring your acceptance letter (surat tawaran)
-bring RM20 because that's how much it costs

I'm not 100% of what certificates to bring on the registration day but what I do know is that you will need to photocopy a few things ;
-birth certificate
-parents birth certificate
-IC card
-SPM certificate

For curricular certificates (competitions,sports,leadership,etc) you will have to photocopy them and hand it in for signing. It's to confirm that the certificates photocopied are genuine and not a fraud. You might want to get your pictures taken too, just incase.

There's not much to talk about for the medical checkup because everything is already in the papers. However I did mine at a 'klinik swasta' so there's no need to queue for hours at a general hospital. They take your urine sample, x-ray and other minor things.

Sounds fun until you do it for hours and your legs become numb lol. For essentials, I just googled up stuff to bring to 'asrama' and made my own checklist. However, KPM has a strict dress code that only allows baju kurung/kebaya panjang to classes so if you don't own a lot of simple and wearable baju kurung's then I suggest you buy atleast 4 pairs.

I think that's really all the preparation I did before going to KPM. The only preparation I haven't done is my mind and spirit because lmao my head is still floating in the clouds. I guess these are all just basic things that probably everyone knows but if you're curious about anything I hope this helped more or less. Bye for now, I'll update when I get there (hopefully still alive and strong hahaha).
