Hi, I haven't blogged in a really long time lmao I'm sorry for that. So basically, the last time I posted was when I was going for my registration at KPM. Fast forward 5 months later and here I am : finally finished with my first semester in DEC (Dip in English Communication) and currently waiting for my final's results tomorrow (pray 4 me plz). There have been sooo many things that have happened within the period of 5 months. I don't even know where to begin. So I'll briefly bring you along on my ever so basic life in KPM Seri Iskandar, currently my new home for the next 2 years.

Ah yes, let's start with the hostel or what we call here 'kamsis' for some reason i don't get. Maybe it's supposed to be the short form of 'kampus siswi'? Idk, layankan jela. So my room is KI-02-05 (2 stands for the level and 5 stands for the room number). The room is in a really strategic area because its next to the stairs, toilet AND utility room. What more could you ask for right haha. However, sad to say the utility room doesn't even function and i ended up using the furthest toilet in the world bcs the one next to me is gross.
My roommates, on the other hand, are the most heart-warming, caring but gila people I've ever met. Muaz, who sleeps on the bed next to me, followed by Mira, Farah, Faten and Shazu. Three of them are seniors and the other two are in my batch. Muaz is caring and very independent, I love her the most. Mira is like the 'mak-mak' that you need in the room to control everyone's behavior. Farah and Faten are both crackheads in their own way, but I love them both and the room gets lonely when one of them isn't around. Shazu likes to bully the sh*t out of me but she loves me like a little sister so its a love-hate relationship.
One thing I remember about being at the kamsis is the surprise rollcall they made at 1 a.m. in the morning while I was already sleeping. Boleh bayangkan tak tiba-tiba bunyi ketuk pintu followed by "SISWI ROLLCALL, SISWI ROLLCALL". It was really confusing. Turns out there were students eating at Mcd at 1 a.m. in the morning pastu kena tangkap felo. What dumbasses. Nasib baik everything cleared quickly, if not I would have continued sleeping dekat lantai surau tu jugak. Hmph.

Is it really a family photo if you don't make the rempit pose. |

Where do I begin eh hahaha. The first time I came to class and met my classmates, they were all super loud and obnoxious. Sis was scared and didn't talk for the first week (i think??) because I wasn't use to all the outspoken english surrounding like that. So I was skek. But obviously as time past, they became a big chunk of happiness in my college life. We eat lunch together and spend a lot of time together. Celebrated birthdays and so much more. Kena attack dengan Lao Shi pun together. There's just always something to look forward to when I'm with them and that makes me happy to get ready for classes in the morning. I specifically remember when it was already study week and there were no more classes. I stayed in my room the whole week, watching netflix. Then one day Sir held a test for our class and we got to see each other again. It was then when I realized how much they actually impact my daily life and the reason I'm happy here in si. Aw sweet gituw but its true. Dec A will always be my little bunch of crackheads that I look forward to being around for the next 2 years (hopefully).
Its not the full one but i still love everyone |

Idk if its just me but I feel like my first semester here studying Eng Com was not that hard. Everything was just the introduction : Introduction to Reading, Introduction to Writing, Introduction to Listening and Speaking and Grammar Basics. And because I have a great passion for English, it seemed basic enough for me. The tests and assignments were manageable and I still had plenty of time to still binge watch 13 Reasons Why along the way. There were other subjects like Computing Fundamentals (ITE), Amal Islami and Mandarin that of course weren't English related but I did okay-ish enough. I suprisingly liked learning Mandarin even though there were a few incidents here and there (ytjt hahahah). All in all, first sem was great. Tapi tulah, muaz (my rooomate who's in sem 4) just laughed when I said all this because belum masuk neraka lagi katanya. So we'll wait and see if I'm still alive by the end of sem 4 to post more on my blog eh hahaha.

What I can say about KPMSI is that it is quite peaceful considering its small and doesn't have a huge amount of students like in Universities. Everything is close to each other so if you wakeup 5 minutes before class starts you can still make it to class if you run (tu kalau tak mandi lah) and if you're hungry it only takes 5 minutes to buy food from the cafe. The rules are a bit strict but i guess im not really complaining because they give allowance and everything so its not my stand to complain or anything (it would be great to be able to wear jeans outside but ok ur call i guess). The seniors are nice enough (walaupun ada jugak yang cam, ha malas nak cakap banyak) but idk I don't even know that many seniors. Atleast KPMSI is surrounded by shops and kedai makan so I guess its an alright place to study at tbh. KPMSI di hatiku gitu. #anakmara #maraperkasa #menjujungamanahrakyat
I guess thats roughly what my life at KPM is all about. Its actually really fun here haha with the right people and friends of course. If you're thinking of studying here, you're more than welcome. It's not as amazing as being at a university, but the people you meet and the experiences you go through, you won't ever be able to get at UiTM or somewhere lmao. Thats all from me, I'll keep you guys updated. Bye xx.
hahahahah love reading this. would read more if u write again. thankssss sis
ReplyDeleteThank you! This is such an old blog haha but I'm glad you liked it.
DeleteAssalam,
ReplyDeleteNak tanya, sis dh graduate ke? Kalau dh saya nak tanya, mcm mana career opportunities after grad ye? Senang ke utk dpt offer kerja bila dh grad? Dan ada ke program oversea masa diploma or degree or scholarship ke oversea? dan apa pilihan ye?
Wsalam and Hi! Yes I'm a graduate from KPM. Career wise, after grad the opportunities are endless since diploma programs under KPM are MQA certified. Many work for both government and swasta so it shouldn't be a problem. As for studying overseas, there's a sponsorship program under MARA called IESP for diploma graduates from KPM. So there is a chance to study degree overseas under the program if you manage to graduate from KPM with a minimum CGPA of 3.90. Hope that helps!
Deletehi may i ask for Amal Islami, what did you learnt ya?
